Shorts Program #2 – Finding The Way To Yourself

Come experience the stories of individuals of varying backgrounds and abilities as they harness their ambitions and turn obstacles into a guide to finding their true self. These individuals turn limits imposed on them by discrimination, death, mental disabilities andthe big world around them, into life lessons. Randall Burke attempts to cross the color barrier in baseball in “Mama’s Boy”. In “18 Minutes”, a son expresses his emotions following the close call with death his father experienced in the 9/11 attacks. A young boy uses his imagination to escape the reality of his dying father in “Door No. 5”. A ninety-three year old man finds an unexpected messenger comforting as he comes to the end of his life in “Goodbye Mister De Vries”. A disabled man struggles to come to terms with the death of his father in “The Sea Reminds Me”. An Austrian Captain attempts to guide what is left of his platoon to surrender and in the meantime takes a disabled young man under his wing in “Menschen”. Two toys with impairments that were discarded from a factory come to life and escape to the city in “Macropolis”.
