The Balance of Beauty and Flavor

01 Nov

The perfect balance of beauty and flavor – that is what Dawn Catherine Pascale is searching for. And she finds it with a creative spirit, blending ideas and flavors. She brings her hand-crafted – sweet – artistry to the people.

Dawn Pascale and her company Simply Home Goods is one of our wonderful new sponsors and supporters.

BolderLife Festival: Dawn Pascale, you  are sponsoring BolderLife Festival. We would love to learn more about you. Would you please introduce yourself? dawn1sponsor

Dawn Pascale: Picture this, a little girl smitten with a chef named Graham Kerr (The Galloping Gourmet). I was so enthralled that my Mom had to take me to afternoon kindergarten just so I could watch his TV show in the morning. I cooked and baked all of the recipes, from Chef Kerr, that I could with my Mom.  My life from there may have taken a different road, not culinary related, but my passion for cooking and baking never died! Fast forward to 2005 and Simply Home Goods was created focusing on custom made cakes, cupcakes and more.  I quickly saw the demand, even from my own returning clients, for “alternatively” baked goods. From this Om Sweet Home was created in 2013 still focusing on using organic ingredients but now substituting many of those items for alternative approaches resulting in a vegan and gluten-free line of baked goods. I still do made-to-order cakes & events and have several of my products both vegan/gluten-free and traditionally baked in local coffee shops, restaurants wellness centers, etc in Hoboken, NJ.

BolderLife Festival:  Please introduce your company Simply Home Goods. What is your current project?

simply_home_goods DawnSimply Home Goods is simply about homemade. All desserts are made to order with an eye toward your dreams about the event, whether it’s a bridal shower or wedding, a baby shower or birthday party, a corporate meeting or an intimate dinner party.

It’s official! Om Sweet Home has been added to the Simply Home Goods family focusing on vegan and gluten-free goodies. It’s inspirational knowing that I’m helping people make healthy choices about sweets and personally squashing the myth that vegan and/or gluten-free tastes bad!

BolderLife Festival:  Why do you support BolderLife Festival?

Dawn: Everyone’s voice deserves to be heard and it’s refreshing to see an outlet created to allow that creativity to be shared with others.

BolderLife Festival:  What do you think about BolderLife’s vision? Do the BolderLife Festival and Simply Home Goods have something in common?

DawnOne of my favorite quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson is “What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.” There’s so much potential in each of us to do what we love and to do great things for others, our community, and our planet. Finally getting the opportunity to pursue my passion full-time is a blessing therefore I use each day as a chance to meet new people, share my story and hopefully inspire them to follow their own passion.

BolderLife Festival: What do you think personally about how to live a bolder life?

DawnFirstly be grateful for this planet, life, family, friends, freedoms, & opportunities. Secondly be aware of your existence in this universe, your effect on it and others and be open to all who cross your path. Lastly rejoice in the ability to feel, see, understand, and express this gratitude & existence everyday.

 Thank you very much!
