A Festival that celebrates arts, diversity expression, and people

19 Nov

BolderLife’s Program highlights include a spirited conversation with a panel of self-defined, path-breaking women who have navigated through challenging personal and professional environments in the high profile entertainment and fashion industries to establish themselves as successful professionals with fulfilling careers. Discussions will touch on the subjects of objectification and labeling vs. self definition, industry norms, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, eating disorders, drug abuse, personal definitions of success and the full spectrum of activism (both intentional and default acts). One of the three amazing women who will discuss about this topic is Rose Garcia.

roseBolderLife Festival: Rose, we would love to learn more about you. Would you please introduce yourself and tell us a little about what gives you purpose?

Rose: My name is Rose Garcia. I am known in the public as a member of the cast from Showtimes The Real L Word and I have been really fortunate to be introduced to this amazing festival last year. I enjoy giving back to the LGBT community and being part of events that give hope, love and encouragement to others.

BolderLife Festival: Why do you support the BolderLife Festival?

Rose: For the same reasons as they explain in their mission statement. Last years films were so diverse and gave these amazing film makers an outlet without having to fit into a specific box. The education the festival provides is such a unique personal approach to discussing these films.

BolderLife Festival: How are you involved with the BolderLife Festival?

Rose: I was invited to the festival last year to discuss the film “Gun Hill Road”. Being a lesbian, Catholic, Puerto Rican, I was able to relate to the films content. I am back this year to support the growing festival and discuss a new film called “Valentine Road” and be on the Panel with Jessica Clark and Erin Kelly discussing how Women have Thrived in the world today despite adversity and obstacles. I am really looking forward to sharing the stage with these amazing women.

BolderLife Festival: What do you think of BolderLife’s vision?

Rose: If only the world could adopt such a wonderful vision it would be a much better place. Truthfully speaking, if we can strive every day to be a better person each day forward, better in communicating, in loving, in sharing and in purpose, many of our current global problems can be resolved.

rose2BolderLife Festival: What would you say to the world about why people should come to the festival?

Rose: This festival is not just a film festival. Its a celebration of the arts, diversity expression, and people. Not to mention its fun, educational, and real! It’s no hob nob environment. Its a down to earth, come together, wonderful time.

BolderLife Festival: What do you think personally about how to live a bolder life?

Rose: To respect more, love more, live more, and support more. Hence, I will be at BolderLife this year. See you there!!

Yeah, we will see you there!

Thank you!
