Denver, CO, November 26, 2013 – BolderLife Festival 2013:

Four Days Program is filled with Highlights

The international  BolderLife Festival will be held at the SIE Film Center and 2510 Colfax Ave, Denver, CO this December 5th – 8th, and is happy to announce it’s festival program 2013.

The 2013 program features:

  • 36 International Films

  • 6 Original Plays

  • 1 Original Dance Performance

  • 10 Educational Offerings

  • 6 Local Musicians

  • 6 Local Fine Artists

BolderLife Festival Film Program 2013 is presenting 17 Colorado Premieres,
1 US Premiere and 1 World Premiere! The BolderLife Theater Program is presenting 6 Original Plays – all World Premiers.

Selected program highlights:

Thursday, December 5th: The Festival will open with the Feature Narrative “The Story of Luke”. A comedy about Luke, a young man with autism who is on a quest for a job and a girlfriend. Starring Lou Taylor Pucci, Seth Green, Cary Elwes and Kristin Bauer. The Story of Luke has already received multiple awards and will be presented as a Colorado Premiere.

Prior to the film Benjamin Tarasewicz, a gifted young speaker with high-functioning autism,will be welcomed as a guest speaker. He has been giving inspiring and informational presentations titled Living With Autism: Breaking Through Barriers in the Boulder/Denver area. Benjamin is a charismatic speaker who moves his audiences to both laughter and tears. The Opening Night Gala will kick off a weekend full of film, live theater, art, dance, music and much more.

Friday, December 6th: A conversation with a panel of self-defined, path-breaking women who have navigated through challenging personal and professional environments in the high profile entertainment and fashion industries to establish themselves as successful professionals with fulfilling careers. Discussions will touch on the subjects of objectification and labeling vs. self definition, industry norms, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, eating disorders, drug abuse, personal definitions of success and the full spectrum of activism (both intentional and default acts). The panelists are Artistic Director Erin Kelly, Jessica Clark, and Rose Garcia.

Saturday, December 7th: The Short Documentary “Give”, from Director Vanessa Leigh, will be included in a shorts program for it’s  World Premiere. The dutch Feature Film “Regret!  – Spijt!” will be brought to Denver audiences for it’s US Premiere followed by a Panel on bullying and suicide, hosted by Dawn Anderson, Jess Stohlmann Rainey, and Ellen Kelty.

Sunday, December 8th: BolderLife is proud to present Craig Zablocki – A Motivational Speaker for Change introduced by speaker Mark Andreas.  Craig wants to bring you a  world where audiences don’t just sit through a humorous keynote, but sit on the edge of their seats. A world where what they learn gets used right away, gets passed on to others, gets results. Craig is one of the best prepared humorous motivational speakers available. Mark will recount a poignant story from his book, “Sweet Fruit from the Bitter Tree: 61 Stories of Creative and Compassionate Ways out of Conflict,” a collection of how real people responded to conflict situations in creative and surprising ways many of us would never think of.

Sunday, December 8th: BolderLife is excited to bring another year of fantastic plays to this year’s multi-media festival. The Theater Program consists of 6 Original Short Plays (international writers and local directors/actors)  presented as World premieres at the Crossroads Theater.

Monday, December 2nd: Meet BolderLife Staff, Filmmakers, Actors and Directors

WaterCourse Foods is proud to regularly contribute proceeds to various local and national non-profit organizations through their “Nonprofit Monday” fundraisers. On any given Monday, WaterCourse donates 10-15% of the day’s proceeds to a participating non-profit. BolderLife has partnered with WaterCourse to raise funds for the 2013 festival through this unique event. BolderLife Staff, Filmmakers, Actors and Directors will be at WaterCourse and available to mingle and interview throughout the day on December 2nd. Join us for lunch or dinner! WaterCourse Foods Restaurant is located at 837 E. 17th Ave. on the corner of E. 17th and Emerson.
